What we collect, why we collect it, and what we never see.

WP Skills is a WordPress code generator operated by Oğuzhan Yılmaz. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. It covers this website and nothing else — the WordPress sites you paste the generated code into are yours, and we have no visibility into them.
The generators do not send us your input
Every generator runs in your browser. The values you type into a generator's fields are turned into PHP by code that has already been downloaded to your device, and the result never leaves it. You can use every generator on this site without an account, and we receive nothing about what you generated.
This stops being true in one case, and only one: if you are signed in and you press Save, the field values of that snippet are stored so you can reopen it later. That is described below.
What we collect
Your account. If you register with an email address, we store that address and a hash of your password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in a readable form. If you sign in with Google or GitHub instead, we receive the basic profile that provider releases — typically your name, email address and avatar — and no password at all.
Snippets you save. When you save a snippet, we store the values you entered into that generator, the title you gave it, the generator it belongs to, and the time it was created, all linked to your account. This exists so the snippet is there when you come back.
Messages you send us. The contact form stores your first name, last name, email address and message. The bug report form stores a title, your email address, the type of problem and your description of it. We keep these so we can reply and so a reported bug can be traced.
Analytics. We use Google Tag Manager to understand which pages are used and which generators are worth building next. This records the usual page-level information: the pages you visit, the approximate region you visit from, and technical details about your browser and device.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Your account and your saved snippets exist because you asked for them — they are how the service does what you signed up for.
- Messages you send are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering them.
- Analytics are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
Who processes it on our behalf
- Supabase — hosts the database and runs authentication. Your account, your snippets and your messages live here.
- Google — Tag Manager and the analytics it loads. If you sign in with Google, they also confirm your identity to us.
- GitHub — confirms your identity if you choose to sign in with it.
These providers operate in several countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in.
How long we keep it
Your account and your saved snippets are kept until you ask us to delete them. Delete a snippet and it is removed from the database; ask us to close your account and everything attached to it goes with it. Messages you send us are kept while they are still useful to answer or to trace a bug, and deleted once they are not.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it. Write to mail@wp-skills.com and we will act on it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority if you think we have handled your data badly.
Cookies
We set a cookie to keep you signed in — without it you would have to log in on every page. Google Tag Manager sets its own cookies for the analytics described above. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; blocking the sign-in cookie will stop you from staying signed in, but every generator will still work.
Children
This site is aimed at people who write software for a living or a hobby. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes will be announced rather than made quietly.
